If I could solve a problem now it would be one of two things. Go back to glass refillable containers for sodas and bottled water opening jobs for many people in the cleaning, sterilizing and packaging industries.
If I were the President of the United States I would get everyone home and use the balnce of the war budget to give each family in America one of the new Idian cars that small efficient and Environmentally kind. It would probably cost less than the war does right now.

I think that over fishing, especially Blue Fin Tuna, is one of the worst environmental issues of today. Our oceans have lots of things to tell us and we have created technology so fast that we don’t think about the consequences of our actions for the future. When we hunt things into extinction just because we are able to we create big gaps in our understanding of our planet. We need to act responsibly with our technology and find out the long term effects before we use it.
